FOREWORD
The following Venue Directory, compiled by the CORNWALL ‘98 team, although produced primarily for their own use as a working tool for the planning of the 1998 World Watersports Festival, has now been organised into a specific reference manual for any organisation wishing to mount an event on the coasts or inland waters of the County.
Whilst every care has been taken to ensure accuracy, readers should be aware that some information may have changed since publication. This is particularly so as the Festival gets nearer and authorities are keen to improve their waterside facilities to enable them to host the best event possible.
Only the primary centres for events have been included, those areas that are already hosting major events, and those with excellent potential for becoming an event centre. Each district has been represented, but if the reader feels that a potentially viable event venue has been omitted we would be pleased to hear from you.
CORNWALL ‘98 would be keen to hear from anyone who detects errors or omissions in the text, and particularly from any authority which has upgraded the facilities described herein.
NOTE: Since this project was first started many new plans and schemes for improvement have been set in motion. However at the time of printing these plans cannot be reported upon due to the sensitive nature of negotiations.
