EVENTS AND ENTERTAINMENTS
Lane Theatre. (Tel. 01637 876945). Popular comedy. Tuesday/Wednesday, May/October. Licensed bar and parking.Newquay Amateur Operatic Society presents The Boyfriend at Tretherras School Junior Hall. 7th - 12th April 1997.
Dancing. Most of the larger hotels, night clubs and discotheques.
Blue Lagoon Leisure Complex. Indoor complex incorporating the Splash City Fun Pool, with its three flumes - superflume, The River ride and the Aquawizz. Ten pin bowling, pool tables, Frizzbys Night Club, restaurant/cafeteria and Hawaiian bar. Access for the disabled.
Surfing Events. Various surfing events take place at Fistral Beach throughout the year.
Great Cornwall Balloon Festival. See these magnificent men (and women) in their flying machines.A beautiful multi-colour festival of hot-air balloons taking part in competitions for the coveted trophies. In addition various other attractions take place including tethered flying at Newquay. RAF St Mawgan Air Day. RAF St Mawgan International Air Day 1997 will be held on Wednesday 6th August. 100 plus military and civil aircraft will provide airborne and static displays, plus a ground arena, funfair and stalls.
Tunnels Through Time.
St Michaels Road. 01637 873379. Over 70 full size characters bring to life stories depicting Cornwall's past.Cornwall Gardens Festival.

Newquay Festival. 30th August to 6th September.
Newquay 1900 Week.
6th to 11th July. Take a step back in time to life at the turn of the century. Numerous events take place throughout the week commencing with the procession winding its way through the town on the first Sunday in July. Dress up in 1900 costumes and join the fun.Old Lifeboat Station/Studio.
On Towan Head. Newquay's former lifeboat station, now used as a studio by figurative painter Nicholas Williams. View new works and works in progress. Open1st June to 30th Setember 10.00am - 3.00pm.
