Boat Launching Facilities
Charlestown Harbour. Moorings afloat in both inner and outer harbours. Parking on quayside for small craft with use of slipway or beach for launching and recovery. Fowey - Tidal River. There is a charge for launching off the slipway. Tickets are obtainable from machine at Caffa Mill,
Fowey. Golant - Tidal River. There is a public slipway.
Gorran Haven - Tidal Beach. Public slipway. Access to the slipway restricted to foot passengers between 10am and 5pm during the main summer holidays. Car park close by. Mevagissey. No facilities for the general public.
Pentewan. Only available to site occupants. Members of the general public will have to pay a fee to the site.
Polkerris. Private tidal sandy beach, excluding speed boats. Contact Mr M Harris. (01726) 815142
Porthpean - Tidal Beach. Restricted use of slipway. Contact attendant or telephone (01726) 74466 ext. 2248 (Mon - Fri 0900-1700). No boats with engines over 10hp allowed to launch between 9.00am - 6.00pm. No water skiing or jet skis.

Weekly parking tickets which are interchangeable between Restormel Council car parks are available from Council Offices in St Austell and Newquay, the Tourist Information Centre at Newquay or direct from attendants at Restormel Council car parks.

Ferry Services
Fowey: Car and passenger service between Fowey (Caffa Mill) and Bodinnick, operates between 7am and dusk. Passenger and cycle service between Fowey and Polruan, operates from 7am until 11pm (summer) and until 7pm (winter). Times vary according to day and season, please check with Tourist Information Centre before setting out.
Fishing
Mevagissey is particularly well known for shark, deep sea and wreck fishing. Boats and tackle can be hired at the harbour. At Fowey, regular sea angling trips are available, bass, grey mullet, pollock, flounders and mackerel can all be caught. Fish for salmon, trout and sea trout on the River Fowey (licences and permit required). Angling trips are also available from St Mawes.

Walking
There is an enviable choice of river, woodland, country and coastal walks around Fowey, Mevagissey, St Austell Bay, Lostwithiel and the Roseland, which is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Numerous walks books and leaflets are available from Tourist Information Centres including: Walks Around Lostwithiel, Walking In And Around Fowey and a colour brochure with six circular walks using the Saints Way.

The TICs also sell various publications and products such as walks booklets, maps timetables, holiday videos, local guides and rail/theatre tickets.
